    “创意产业”在英国被定义和执行之后，整个世界都在通过创意产业来重构产业结构，北京的798、上海M50成为中国实践创意产业的成功案例。

    自发形成的西安纺织城艺术区将会如何发展，将影响西安纺织城的产业结构和纺织城居民的日常生活，也将会塑造古城西安的一道全新的城市风景。

    “艺术在城市中的作用”就是在从上到下都在密切关注纺织城命运的时候召开的一次学术论坛，希望跟政府、市民、专家一起共商纺织城的未来。

    论坛将公布部分纺织城研究成果、发布纺织城入选2007深圳香港双年展、公布西安洛杉矶艺术合作计划。

    Creativity is productivity in modern world. Contemporary economists have adopted Bohemian Index, representative of the depth of involvement of artists and designers into social affairs, into statistics showing national economic status.

    Since the concept “Creativity Industry” was invented and executed economically in UK, creativity industry has been adopted by social practitioners to reorganize industrial structures. Beijing 798 and Shanghai M50 have been the successful examples of such practices in China.

    How would Xi’an Textile City Arts District, this spontaneous creativity industry zone and a complex of artist workshops, develop and influence the industrial structure and people’s life in Textile City? It is an open question with answers bringing to the ancient capital of Xi’an a different and surprising appearance.

    This forum, themed on “The Role of Arts in City Regeneration” will be an academic gathering hopefully with government, citizen and the experts discussing the destiny of Xi’an Textile City.
